Jesus Del Refugio Ortega (Balenzuela)

Jesus was born on January 15th, 1826 in Hacienda de Santa Rosa, Malpaso, Zacatecas and his baptism took place on January 17th, 1826 in Malpaso de Villanueva, Zacatecas, Mexico conducted by Father Anastacio Carrillo Davila.¹   His godfather was Rafael Delgadillo and his godmother was Venita Delgadillo.

Jesus' father is Maximino Ortega and his mother is Maria Petra Balenzuela (Ortega).  His paternal grandfather was Jose  Anastacio Ortega (Guerrero and his paternal grandmother is Andrea Silva (Ortega); his maternal grandparents are Ines Balenzuela and Eduarda Baleria (Balenzuela). He had four brothers and five sisters, named Jacinto de la Trinidad, Jose Lorenzo de Jesus, Jesus, Jose, Maria, Maria, Maria Dorotea, Franca and Victoriana.  He was the oldest of the ten children.  Jesus is no longer alive.
