Jose Lorenzo de Jesus Ortega (Balenzuela)

Jose Lorenzo de Jesus was born on September 4th, 1831 in Malpaso de Villanueva, Zacatecas, Mexico and his baptism took place there on September 7th, 1831 conducted by Father Fernando Antonio de Hesles.^1 2   His godfather was Juan Ramos Rodriguez and his godmother was Marcelina Baleria.

Jose Lorenzo de Jesus' father is Maximino Ortega and his mother is Maria Petra Balenzuela (Ortega).  His paternal grandfather was Jose  Anastacio Ortega (Guerrero and his paternal grandmother is Andrea Silva (Ortega); his maternal grandparents are Ines Balenzuela and Eduarda Baleria (Balenzuela). He had four brothers and five sisters, named Jesus, Jacinto de la Trinidad, Jesus, Jose, Maria, Maria, Maria Dorotea, Franca and Victoriana.  He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  Jose Lorenzo de Jesus is no longer alive.
